LaMarche Stands Out As Clean Candidate
By Lester M. Timofeev
The recent news of candidate for governor Chandler Woodcock's obvious acceptance of ads running on his behalf from the Republican Governors' Association is a clear violation of the Clean Election Fund Laws, which Candidate Chandler had vowed to follow as a "Clean Candidate."
The only real choice for governor is Pat LaMarche, running clean, running strong and working to make Maine a place that all citizens matter. |
This clearly brings up a trust issue. Do we want a governor who is going to start out with lies and corruption? I know I surely wouldn't.
This brings up many issues, especially the issue of ethics, and perhaps even violation of Maine's Clean Election Laws. Certainly if the Ethics Commission decides this is legally and ethically sound then let's give more money to the other clean candidates. I ask the ethics commission to please read each letter of the law, and quickly. This way more funding can be dispersed to the other clean candidates.
It is very clear at this point in the gubernatorial race that Baldacci is not true to his word, and Barbara Merrill has had her own ethical issues.
This leaves us with the only real choice for governor, Pat LaMarche, running clean, running strong and working to make Maine a place that all citizens matter.
