Democrats and Republicans Cross Party Lines to Endorse LaMarche
Portland, Maine — Several prominent Democrats and Republicans have stepped across party lines to endorse Green-Independent Pat LaMarche for governor, among them a former Democratic candidate for governor.

Former Republican lawmaker and the leader of the recent anti-bear baiting referendum, Robert Fisk, says about LaMarche, "The Democrats and Republicans want you to think your vote doesn't count if you don't vote for them. That's not true. I want my vote to really count, that's why I’m voting for Pat LaMarche."
Former Democrat for Governor Christopher Miller, who received a quarter of the Democratic primary vote in June, has endorsed LaMarche, calling her simply the best candidate in the race today.
Roy Ulrickson III, the current Dexter Republican Town Chairman puts it bluntly, "I'm stepping across party lines to vote for Pat LaMarche because she has a plan to lower taxes."
Businessman and former Democratic candidate for statehouse Bruce Avery, from Standish, has endorsed LaMarche, saying, "Pat's Healthcare plan will save my business money, allowing me to expand and create jobs."
Current Democratic lawmaker Joanne Twomen, (D) Biddeford has endorsed LaMarche, calling this a "critical election" and urging other Democrats, Republicans and Independents to vote for LaMarche.
Erin Cianchette, from the well-known political family, has also endorsed LaMarche, saying "Pat has a real plan to create jobs in Maine."
In recent Maine history, there have never been so many prominent politicians and leaders who have crossed party lines to endorse any single candidate from another party.
Jeff Toorish, a respected political consultant and former political journalist who is working on the LaMarche campaign said, "during my involvement in Maine politics for 30 years, I have never seen anything like this."
LaMarche says, "It is simply gratifying that our campaign has attracted the best and brightest from across the political spectrum — and that will give you a very good idea of what my administration will look like."
