Medical Breakthrough — Overdue
It is our goal that, by the time the students entering their freshman year in college this September graduate, they will have the option of attending an allopathic medical school, or a dental school, or a pharmacy school right here in Maine. State's Mental Health Plan: "Pay More, Get Less"
On July 1st an RFP will go out to managed care companies around the nation asking for bids to parcel out Maine's mental healthcare needs for the poor in Maine. It will go to everywhere in the country but Maine... unless we have some providers in the state who aren't already providing services, as only non-current providers may bid on the project. LaMarche Delivers State of the State Speech
What's the state of the state? We've privatized the profitable parts of our state government to out-of-state interests. We have sent good jobs out of state and our kids out of state after them. [Maine is] a state of kind, generous, hard-working souls who need a government that respects them, understands their needs, and is willing to either invest in their businesses or get out of their way.
