Why I Support Pat LaMarche
Featured Volunteer: Abby Ingalls

NOTE: The response to Pat LaMarche's candidacy has been overwhelming and gratifying. Her many years of preparing food for Maine's food banks, supporting Maine's National Guard troops, and doing other things to improve the quality of life for all Mainers has led to many people volunteering for the campaign. While it is impossible to highlight everyone who is helping, we will be highlighting some of the volunteers so that you can get a sense of who is supporting Pat LaMarche for governor.

"I am supporting Pat LaMarche because she speaks to issues that are important to me — healthcare, the economy and education," said Abby Ingalls, a volunteer who first heard about Pat when Team LaMarche knocked on her door in August. "Pat's slogan, 'common sense leadership' is right on. There is nothing tricky going on. Her plans for Maine's future promote efficiency and fairness. Although I always consider all the candidates, I have chosen to vote for Pat in November."

Pat LaMarche. Jobs. A living wage. It's just common sense.

Abby volunteers regularly for our field team, hitting the streets to spread the word about Pat LaMarche's campaign. She's been spotted in various places around Portland lately, handing out literature for Pat and joining groups of supporters holding signs at busy intersections, rallies and parades.

It seems as much as we appreciate Abby's work and enjoy her company, she's equally thrilled to be part of a team working to make Maine better — with health care for all and other common sense solutions.

In fact, like many Mainers, Abby has been faced with tough choices because of the high cost of health insurance. She had to leave a small business and a job she loved for a position outside of her field because it came with medical benefits.

Abby's roots in Maine go back generations. She loves the beach and loves to ski. When she's not out with the field crew, she pitches in around the Portland Campaign Office. A skilled writer, she may be called upon to help with some writing and editing as the campaign progresses.
